I havent posted in a long time. In fact im getting phone calls and text messages urging me to update more often. Well im looking into building a new site all my own so I dont have to rely on WordPress anymore. I personally want a sight more geared to my needs and not someone else. The idea behind wordpress is ok, i just want more options as to what I can do without having to reverse engineer the page to figure out how to place stuff. If I build a page it will be easier for me to understand how things are already working and what would be the easiest course of action to get where im going. My only real problem is the program ive used in the past is giving me problems,
1. Its been updated to the new version
2. It costs 400$
3. I dont wanna pay 400$
4. Im looking for a “free” version.

So until 1 of 2 things happens (I find an extra $400 or a “free” version) im stuck with just ideas of how I want the new page to look.

On other news. April finished Goody’s beer pong table last weekend. We went with a Half and Half approach with the “House Divided” look to it. One side Cyclones and one side the Mighty HAWKS! Shes gotten a ton of compliments and questions about the tables. Enough so that im thinking about creating an official website for the tables so she can sell them. There’s still a lot of questions on how to operate a business like that so im not sure how far shes willing to go with it. Mostly how could you ship tables out of the immediate area of Des Moines? Id really like to figure out some kind of autmatic ball washer and other cool features I could add to the tables to. But like most other of my ideas they come over time after thinking of something TOTALLY UNRELATED.

I think this is the best song out there right now. Im not a big Shinedown fan but this is one of their best and its new.

Where to begin where to begin….

Andrews Baseball ended last Thursday in the best played game they’ve had all year long against the Cardinals. A game that featured a well played “hot box” and a 4-5 loss. It was so close! I received a ton of compliments about Andrew and how he bats and plays. A lot of coaches really liked how he stood in the box ready for pitches and used his hips and wrists for maximum power in the box. He was very intimidating in the batters box this year, he hit lead of every game and people always cheered Andrew on because they knew he would drive runs in since his batting was phenomenal. I racked up 1 in the park homer and a triple in one of his first games. In fact Andrew was invited the past Friday to sub in for a minors team, which is one league above what he plays in now. It got rained out but he was impressing coaches and players alike during warm-ups. I think I was more excited than he was about the game, I really wanted him to get a taste of the “big boys”. I talked to a few coaches and found out about a League that plays into August called AAU. Hopefully we can get into that since it will end a few weeks before Football starts up. I really think Andrew impressed enough people that hes gonna be sought after next year and a few coaches do Little All American as well so im hoping his hard work carries over.

Kalee expressed her desire to start Fall Softball the other day as well. Id really like her to get into a sport and stay active this summer. Shes out of school now and finished with A’s and B’s so she has that to be very proud of, I know we are.

Emma’s dance recital is this upcoming Friday and April has tickets for whoever wants them. I believe it starts at 630 so don’t be late or you’ll here it from Emma!

April bought me an Iphone a few weeks back and surprised me with it. I cant express in words how much I love this phone. It does everything I ever wanted a phone to do! Up to date Email every 15 min, Texting in the form of full conversations, A full touch screen, its also a 16gb Ipod, Weather, Stocks, Youtube, Camera, Maps, Pandora, Facebook, Google, The Weather Channel, ESPN, Yahoo Fantasy Baseball and all the wonderful apps that come with it or downloaded. The possiblities are endless. A few of the games are addicting. Like Scrabble and Chess. You can make a move and it sends it to whoever else your playing (that also has an Iphone) and theres no time limit, you can take days at a time for each move if you want. The touch screen is super nice, I dont have near the problems with clicking on stuff as I did with my last phone. Mistakes are minimal. Not to mention the sheer speed of the phone as far as Apps go. Just simply amazing. The Iphone has set the standard for phones and I dont see anyone coming close to it for awhile, even then, I only see Iphone 4 setting the new standard again once it comes out.

Went to the Indy Corn 250 at Newton for fathers day with Dad and his friends. April and I was out until 1am the night before so the 4am wake up call to be at Dads for the drive that morning at 5:00 was pretty rough. I made the weenies Mike Goodwin showed me a few weeks back and everyone loved them. The race itself was pretty good to. I picked the best 2 drives and won the pool in the process even after a shady attempt by Randy to try to steal my winnings!

I havent been able to update the site for awhile. I updated my machine to windows 7 and forgot to move over all of our pictures from the past 4 or 5 years. So ive spent the past month trying to recover them only to find out that I cant. So ive been kinda unhappy about my stupid mistake for the past few weeks. Other than that April, Matt Carter begin_of_the_skype_highlighting     end_of_the_skype_highlighting and I attended the 2010 Lazerfest. I was going to make a neat little movie of all the videos I did but decided screw it and posted them. Ive only got one on so far.

Andrews on the Royals this year and they already started the year 0-2. The kids have really stepped up their game from last year it seems. Pitching seems to have speed up a good deal and the batting didnt seem to follow. Andrew is actually one of those that suprised me. Hes a pitcher this year and he wings that baby in there. Although he has almost taken a few heads off with his wild ones his speed makes up for it. After talking with Luara at work today I realized my math went horribly wrong on the last points tally. If duke wins Luara will win the full pot with Kristin in 2nd and Kevin in 3rd. If West Va. wins out Mom wins, if West Va beats duke, but loses the big game…..lets just say things get crazy from there.

These top 3 are our winners. If Duke wins against West Va. we will have a 2 way tie between Kristin and Laura and it will come down to the Tiebreaker points. If West Va. wins the championship Mom will win the pot and Kristin and Laura will again tie. If West Va. beats Duke but loses the Championship its a 3 way tie and again it will come down to the tiebreaker. If West Va. loses to duke, Kevin will move into third and be locked into that spot.

Scoring

Round 1: 32 picks * 1 point/pick = 32 points

Round 2: 16 picks * 2 points/pick= 32 points

Round 3: 8 picks * 3 points/pick=24 points

Round 4: 4 picks * 5 points/pick=20 points

Round 5: 2 picks * 8 points/pick= 16 points

Round 6: 1 pick * 12 points/pick= 12 points

Total 136 points

Winnings will go like this:

1st Prize = 70% of the pot
2nd Prize = 20% of the pot
3rd Prize = 10% of the pot

In the event of a tie breaker the final score of the Championship Game will be used (who is closest in number of points), if that doesn’t break the tie the tying brackets will be compared beginning with the championship game for correct number of picks/round.

The cost is $10 per entry, you are allowed as many entries as you wish.
